Our Bengal kittens are raised right in our home with our family and children, where someone is almost always holding them, playing with them, or finding an excuse to love on them. Bengals can be wonderful cats for families with children, especially when they're raised around kids from the time they're little. 🐾 What Makes a Bengal's Coat Glitter?
One of the most beautiful features you may notice on some Bengal cats is something called glitter. A glittered Bengal's coat looks like it has been dusted with tiny flecks of gold or crystal, especially when the light hits it. On brown Bengals, the effect often looks warm and golden, while snow Bengals can have a lighter, almost pearly shimmer. Glitter isn't actually a different color or pattern—it's a unique characteristic of the hair itself that reflects light and gives the coat that sparkling appearance Bengals are famous for.
After years of breeding and showing Bengals, glitter is still one of those features that's much prettier in person than it is in pictures. Not every Bengal is glittered, and the amount can vary quite a bit from one cat to another. Some kittens sparkle from head to toe, while others have a more subtle shimmer that's easiest to see in natural sunlight. Glitter can appear on both spotted and marbled Bengals and isn't required for a Bengal to have a beautiful coat, but it's definitely one of my favorite breed features.
