Living with a Bengal is rarely boring! After raising Bengals since 2008, I've learned that they really do like to be involved in whatever you're doing. They may follow you from room to room, sit nearby while you're working, investigate every box that comes through the door, or decide they need to "help" with whatever you're trying to get done. They're intelligent, curious cats, and many of them form incredibly close bonds with their people.
Bengals also tend to be playful and active, so they usually appreciate things that give them an outlet for all that curiosity—cat trees, climbing spaces, interactive toys, and plenty of playtime. That doesn't mean every Bengal is bouncing off the walls all day, though. I've raised plenty that are perfectly happy curling up beside you after they've gotten their playtime in. Just like people, they each have their own personality; some are little comedians, some are cuddlers, and some want to supervise everything you do.

🐾 What Are Bengal Rosettes?
One of the first things people notice about Bengal cats is their gorgeous spotted coat, but many of those spots are actually called rosettes. Unlike a simple solid spot, a rosette usually has two or more shades of color, with a darker outline surrounding a lighter center. They can come in different shapes too—some look like little paw prints, arrowheads, or donuts, while others are larger and more open. After years of breeding and showing Bengals, I still love watching a kitten's pattern become more defined as they grow.
Rosettes are one of the features that give Bengals that beautiful little-leopard appearance, but no two coats are exactly alike. Some Bengals have huge, dramatic rosettes with lots of contrast, while others have smaller markings or a softer overall pattern. Brown Bengals can also vary quite a bit in background color and contrast.
