Ragdolls can make wonderful family cats and are known for their sweet, gentle, and easygoing personalities. They usually enjoy being around people and often want to be right in the middle of whatever the family is doing. Their affectionate nature can make them a great match for homes with children, especially kids who love having a furry little buddy following them around the house.
Our kittens are raised in our home with our children, so they're used to being held, played with, and having plenty of activity going on around them from the time they're little. We think this early socialization makes such a difference when they go to their new homes. Of course, young children should always be taught how to gently handle and respect a kitten, but a well-socialized Ragdoll can be an amazing companion for a child and often becomes one of their best little friends.

🐾 Do Ragdolls Have to Be Groomed Often?
Even though Ragdolls have beautiful, long coats, Ragdoll grooming is surprisingly easy. Their fur is soft and silky and doesn't have the thick undercoat that many other long-haired breeds have, so it's less likely to mat. A good brushing a couple of times a week is usually enough to remove loose hair, prevent tangles, and keep their coat looking beautiful.
Most Ragdolls actually enjoy being brushed, especially when they're introduced to it while they're young. We recommend getting your kitten used to brushing, nail trims, and having their ears and paws handled from an early age. They will shed, especially during seasonal coat changes, but regular brushing helps keep the loose fluff under control—and hopefully keeps a little less of it on your clothes and furniture!
